Initially, the video recordings on my Beyond TV PVR ran very smoothly, but over time, the recordings started to stutter during playback. I realized that disk defragmentation on my 2×400 Gb striped RAID was probably affecting my standard video and 9 Gb/hour HDTV recordings.
