The biggest new thing in Maxwell Render 2.7 is the new Grass Generator. The Grass Generator is particularly great for architects, as it allows users to quickly create grass on a selected piece of geometry. The grass generator is designed to offer maximum control over the look of the grass, with a unique feature which gives you impeccable detail on close-up shots as well as fast-rendering for blades further away from the camera. The new grass primitives are perfectly suited for thin sub-surface scattering giving you even more realism.

V2.7 also includes the new Learning Edition product, a non-commercial license (no need for Student ID) at a price of $95 for a one year license or $195 for a perpetual license.
