Google SketchUp has been traditionally seen as an easy to use 3D tool for engineers and architects. The new book, Google SketchUp for Game Design by Robin de Jongh, shows how SketchUp along with Unity 3D and GIMP can be used to create 3D game worlds. The book provides detailed steps on how to create models in SketchUp, add textures to those models, and upload them to the game application, Unity 3D. You’ll also learn how to create 3D models that can be uploaded and old on online 3D asset libraries. An added benefit about the tools used in the book is that SketchUp, GIMP, and Unity 3D can all be obtained for free.
