Future releases of Adobe Premiere® Pro and Adobe After Effects® software will no longer support 32-bit operating systems. Most PCs purchased since 2005 are already running 64-bit operating systems or can be upgraded. Mac OS X and Snow Leopard are already 64-bit capable.
In other words, if you’re running Snow Leopard, you’ll be ready for the 64-bit optimization in future releases of Premiere Pro and After Effects. If you’re using Windows Vista or Windows 7, install the 64-bit version. Adobe is also recommending a minimum of 12GB of RAM for optimal performance.

 I haven’t wanted to make cartoons since I was a kid, but after spending a couple weeks with Animate Pro from Toon Boom, I’m inspired to try it again.
As the name suggests, Toon Boom specializes in software for making cartoons and animations. The company has a fairly large range of products targeting everyone from hobbyists to professionals, and from Internet-based cartoonists to kids. Disney, Cartoon Network, and The Simpsons cartoon series are among the more popular names that use Toon Boom’s software.
Animate Pro is the professional version of Animate—Toon Boom’s flagship product. This review is primarily on Animate Pro, but will touch on Animate since it shares many of the same features.
