Adobe Creative Suite a sweet deal

The version of CS3 that I tested is Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, which consists of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Acrobat 8 and Bridge.

Impressive about Creative Suite is that it’s “Universal binary,” which means the programs contained in the suite will fly on the new generation of PCs and Intel-inside Macs.

Also useful is the tight integration of each separate program in the suite. All the programs work together perfectly and moving from one to the other with a file is easy and intuitive.

Kerio MailServer offers a Safari 3 and Leopard-compatible alternative with a lot of groupware functionality.

Kerio’s Safari 3 compatibility stems mostly from the fact that it doesn’t have a rich text editor in the client, but it works flawlessly for plain text email and the interface is as smooth and AJAXy as Zimbra’s. Kerio has had a Mac version of the server since 2003, with drop-in Exchange replacement capability and the ability to sync contacts, calendars and email without the need for an external client. Kerio has even had iPhone sync since last Fall.

Google’s Original Doodler

Dennis Hwang shows how he uses Painter and a Wacom Cintiq tablet to create his Google doodles. Dennis and Google are inviting K-12 students to “Doodle for Google” where the winner will have his logo appear on the Google website for a day.

Google doodles, the drawings that are designed on, around and through the Google logo on our home page, are the creation of 29-year-old Google Webmaster Dennis Hwang. Since Dennis began celebrating and marking worldwide events and holidays with his doodles in 2000, his work has been seen by millions and reached cult status, with fans waiting with bated breath to see his next creation, and even websites and blogs devoted to his work. We spoke to Dennis about his doodles and how he got his ideal job:
